Hello fellow archers!

I've been a member of the MLA for nine years and each year gets more exciting. There are always new friends to meet along the way and my family and I have made some life long friendships thanks to the MLA.

I live in Grandville, MI with my wife Kim. Our son Justin lives in St Louis, MO where he attended Lindenwood University on a Water Polo scholarship and he now works as a Senior Chemist making cancer medication. Our daughter Kara lives in Grandville and she's a dental assistant. Both Kim and I were very involved in everything our kids wanted to participate in while they were growing up. Kim was a PTC President, Girl Scout leader, and Odyssey of the Mind, Water Polo, and Swim team volunteer.

I have been a Boy Scout leader and (together with Justin) we started a Boy Scout troop where Justin received his Eagle Scout rank. During Justin's last year in scouting we hiked the mountains in Philmont, NM at the Boy Scout Ranch. When we returned from this trip his Water Polo career started as he traveled to Boca Raton, FL for his first Jr. Olympic Water Polo tournament. I was also an Odyssey of the Mind coach, bringing our team to the World competition at the University of Maryland and an assistant baseball, basketball, and soccer coach. I love working with kids.

I attended bow shoots for several years with friends from work. In the beginning, there were mostly men at the shoots. When women started to participate I quickly invited Kim to come along. I love the family atmosphere that the MLA provides! Justin was able to attend his first bow shoot last summer at Barryton and this year both Justin and Kara will be going with us.

I am thankful for the MLA because it provides quality time we can spend with family and friends while relaxing, camping, and of course shooting our bows. I look forward to meeting all of you and I'm proud to be a part of the MLA council.
