1st Annual MLA Photo Contest

The MLA is always looking for quality photos for STICKTALK and www.michiganlongbow.org that convey what we are all about; a family-oriented organization of longbow enthusiasts.  So, we are hosting an annual photo contest for MLA members, which will take place at our Winter Banquet.  Banquet attendees will vote and there will be prizes for the top three entries.

Contest rules:

  • (1) 5” X 7” photo submission per MLA member (remember all memberships are family memberships, so get the whole family involved).  You can bring a 5” X 7” photo with your name on the back to the 2011 banquet to post on the judging board, or you can email a high resolution .jpg file photo (in 5” X 7” format, or we can format it for you) to: webmaster@michiganlongbow.org by December 31, 2010, and we’ll have it printed for judging at the banquet.

 

  • The photos should include a longbow(s) or in some other way capture the essence of the Michigan Longbow Association (The council reserves the right to remove any photos from the contest that are deemed inappropriate).

 

  • By submitting a photo, you are stating that you took the original photo yourself, and that you give the Michigan Longbow Association permission to publish the photo on our website and in STICKTALK.

 Prizes:

1st Place: $75.00, 2nd Place: $50.00, 3rd Place: $25.00.  The photo contest winners will be announced and the prizes will be awarded at the 2011 MLA Winter Awards Banquet (You do not need to be present to win).

 

 

This 'Arrow Bow', generously donated by Jim Reynolds, was won by Howard Sheridan at the Winter Awards Banquet Feb. 13, 2010


 

These axes were auctioned and raffled at the Banquet.  The knife was presented.
